About
The quality of your crop is key...
A major barrier to responsible management and use of Crop Protection Agents (CPAs) can be growers’ lack of knowledge. We make information available to those who need it and support the implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and responsible CPA management.
This website was designed to support implementation of PMI’s IPM programme by providing:
- Information on pest management and appropriate use of CPAs
- Technical training material for farmers and field technicians
- Facilitation support for trainers
Content held in the toolbox is produced both at program and local levels, enabling teams to exchange experience and leverage successful approaches.
Additional information
IPM is a shift in all parts of the supply chain to an eco-system approach, promoting best practices for the prevention and management of pests in tobacco. As set forth in its objectives, the IPM program seeks to reduce risk of harm to people and the environment from CPAs.
This website has been made possible through funding from Philip Morris International. Their support enables field technicians and tobacco farmers to gain accessible and appropriate information on tobacco pest management and appropriate use of CPAs which is free on web devices, thus helping them lose less of their tobacco to pests and diseases, while producing a crop of optimum quality.
